Favorite High School Memory: My favorite high school memory was attending Camp Anytown at Lee Canyon the summer before senior year. I had never been to an overnight camp and it was a blast. I have fond memories of singing around the campfire, laughing, making new friends and discussing and defying authority. I even met my prom date there.

Most Embarrassing Moment: As a little girl, I always dreamed of being crowned Miss America or Miss USA. My most embarrassing moment occurred while performing a dance routine in pursuit of this dream as a contestant in the Miss Clark County Scholarship pageant. During the dance performance, I found myself facing the complete opposite direction of all the other contestants. My Grandpa had told me many years prior that I was uncoordinated but I was too stubborn to listen however on that day I became keenly aware that Grandpa was right and I was the most uncoordinated black person I knew and I would either need to improve my dancing skills or retire my desire to be a pageant queen so I retired from my dream and lived happily ever after.

Most Exciting Place You’ve Been Since High School: I have had many traveling adventures over the years however the most memorable journey occurred in 1995 when I took a trip to Europe. I traveled to England, France, Luxembourg, Germany, Amsterdam and Belgium on a whirlwind ten-day trip. I was in awe of the architecture and beauty of the countryside.

Favorite High School Memory: Nothing specific: I enjoyed sitting at “the table” with everyone in the cafeteria before school and at lunch. Sometimes I would arrive freakishly early, coming in with the custodians, and do my homework in the cafeteria before school.

Hobbies: I enjoy yoga, pilates, and riding my bike. I travel when I can.

Most Embarrassing Moment: The psychology teacher would do this thing where he would ask random questions. It was my turn, and he asked me a question about dating. I replied that I had never dated as my parents would not allow dating until my sixteenth birthday, and coincidentally that day was my sixteenth birthday. The teacher replied with something like, “You hear that guys? She’s available.” I was mortified. I tried to drop the class. Favorite High School Memory: My favorite memory was when I went up to Mount Charleston with Tracy Moore and a bunch of other people in Jay Lorenzo’s Mustang, we stayed up there all day with a bunch of seniors and we were freshmen.

Favorite High School Memory: Playing Mrs. Laura Partridge in “The Solid Gold Cadillac” – loved the cast, crew and costume shopping with Ms. Lommen at vintage thrift stores downtown. Cast parties at that German pub where we threw peanut shells on the floor. Hikes with Ms. Slagle and the Ecology Club – inspired my lifelong love of nature and hiking. Oh, and sneaking into Caesar’s hot tub one night! 😉

Favorite High School Memory: I lived in Red Rock Canyon..so, coming to “town” was something I couldn’t always control before I got my car.  I remember sitting in the arcade at Shakey’s Pizza playing Asteroids and listening to Gary Neuman’s song “Cars” and just thinking that life didn’t get much better than that.  Friends, Pizza, video games, cool music…

I look forward to being in the same room with her every single day.  When I’m coming home from wherever I have been and hit the garage door remote and see her car there, my heart begins to pitter-patter because I know she’s home.  That’s the most exciting place for me – next to my Blondie.
